Timothy TAN often grapples with themes of complex puzzles, life and death, plus past and present. He is not afraid of dark, aggressive and ironic stories. His music often has unsettling developments, evoking uncomfortable scenarios, such as abuse of power, megalomania, reliving of forgotten histories, and uncovering the weaknesses of human senses. Right now as part of his puzzle-making, he researches on spatialisation with chaos at the Institute of Sonology, The Royal Conservatoire The Hague, in the Netherlands.
